There's no obsession. Daewoo has been dead in Poland since 2001. Before that their cars were popular because they were cheap, which was a massively important factor in early post-communist times. Also, Daewoo bought out some of the old car factories after the fall of communism, which made their cars not only cheap but also locally made in many places.
